These Terms (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Mindbit mobile apps and website (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.
Mindbit helps you read less, learn more with book summaries, short articles, quizzes, visual graphs, and a “chat with the book” feature powered by AI.
Age. The Service is for individuals 16+.
Guest use. You may browse basic features without creating an account. Some features require an account (e.g., syncing content, saving highlights).
Sign-in. You can sign in with email/password or via Google, Apple (Hide My Email supported), or Facebook (email + public_profile). You may link/unlink sign-in methods to one Mindbit account.
Your information. You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You’re responsible for activity on your account.
Cloud AI. AI responses (including “chat with the book” and text summarization) are generated in the cloud and may be inaccurate or incomplete. Use judgment and don’t rely on AI for legal, medical, financial or other professional advice.
Your inputs. Only upload or enter content you have the right to use and that complies with these Terms. Avoid sharing sensitive personal data you don’t want processed.
Your content. You may add highlights from books, bookmarks, and points/streaks history. You may also upload your own text/notes for AI summarization. By default your content is private and not shared with other users.
License to operate the Service. You grant Mindbit a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, and display your content solely to operate and improve the Service (e.g., store, back up, deliver features, generate AI outputs you request).
Your rights. You retain all ownership of your content. You can export or delete your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
Takedown. We may remove content and/or suspend accounts that we reasonably believe are illegal, infringing, or harmful, or that violate these Terms.
You agree not to:
App License. Subject to these Terms, Mindbit grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the apps and website for your own non-commercial purposes.
Our IP. Mindbit and its licensors own the Service, including software, UI, logos, and content not provided by you. Except for the license above, no rights are transferred.
Sign-in providers. Google, Apple, and Facebook are third-party services. Your use of them is subject to their terms and privacy policies.
No third-party integrations. Aside from sign-in and Firebase infrastructure, the app does not include user-facing third-party integrations.
Your use of the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy (www.mindbit.app/privacy), which explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Marketing emails. We may send marketing emails only with your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in the email.
Transactional messages. We may send transactional or security-critical messages necessary to provide the Service (e.g., password resets).
Push notifications. You can control push notifications in your device settings.
Service announcements. If you unsubscribe from marketing emails, we will not send service announcements by email; we may show in-app or website notices instead.
Changes to the Service. The Service may evolve over time. Features may be added, changed, or removed.
Availability. We strive for reliability but do not guarantee uptime. Scheduled or emergency maintenance may occur.
Support. Contact support@mindbit.app. We aim to reply within 3 business days.
Mindbit is currently free. We may introduce optional paid features in the future with prior notice and (if applicable) separate terms. App Store / Google Play billing terms would apply to any paid features.
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account in-app or by contacting support.
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, engage in fraud, or create legal/security risk. We’ll try to provide notice when reasonable.
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.” We make no warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that results (including AI outputs) will be accurate or error-free. These Terms do not affect rights you cannot waive under applicable consumer laws.
To the extent permitted by law:
Indirect damages. Mindbit is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, or goodwill.
Cap. Mindbit’s total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid to us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim (if any), or (b) €20.
The above does not limit liability for gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or where prohibited by law (e.g., for death or personal injury caused by negligence).
You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Mindbit from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your content or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
Informal resolution first. Before filing a claim, you agree to email support@mindbit.app with a brief description of the dispute and allow 30 days to try to resolve it informally.
Law & venue. These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland. Courts in Warsaw, Poland have exclusive jurisdiction, except that consumers may bring claims in their local courts where mandatory consumer laws require.
The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
You may not use or export the Service in violation of applicable export control or sanctions laws. You represent you are not located in, under control of, or a resident of any country or entity embargoed by relevant authorities.
Apple. If you downloaded the iOS app, you acknowledge that Apple is not responsible for the app or its content; Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support; and, to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no warranty obligations. You agree Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them.
Google. If you downloaded from Google Play, Google is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide support.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide in-app and/or website notice. Your continued use of the Service after the revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance.
Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a reorganization or transfer of the Service.
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Mindbit regarding the Service.
No waiver. Failure to enforce a provision isn’t a waiver.
Headings. Headings are for convenience only.
